Today we’re going to give a shoutout to Dr. Roots – our detox juice! With beet, carrot, apple, ginger, and lemon juice, this vibrant red mixture will only aid the process of ridding your body of toxins. But what exactly is it about each of these ingredients that help Dr. Roots to do its job so well? Read on for the awesome benefits of this detoxifying juice!
Beets: Your liver will thank you after a sip of this fresh red juice. Beets contain betaine and pectin – two ingredients that will help eliminate toxins from the liver so that they will not reincorporate back into your body. Beets are very beneficial to the detox process, and are not given nearly the attention they deserve!
Carrots: There are about a million reasons you should include raw carrots in your diet! Specifically in terms of detoxing, they help reduce the number of endotoxin (bad bacteria) sitting in your gut, throwing off your hormones. The raw carrot fiber is also going to help keep bad bacteria from absorbing into your body. Get that endotoxin out of here!
Apples: One serving of Dr. Roots a day keeps the actual doctor away, right? Apples are super important in the detox process due to their ability to get rid of metals and food additives from your body!
Ginger: If you are able to include ginger into your diet, make it happen! The high concentration of gingerol and shoga are going to work as anti-inflammatories and antioxidants. Ginger is going to benefit your digestive system in a major way, neutralizing the acids. Say goodbye to gas and bloating!
Lemon Juice: Lemon juice is pretty mischievous. Once ingested, it basically pretends to be the digestive juices found in your stomach. From there, it will make the liver think that it needs to produce more bile, which will keep all the food and harmful toxins to move on their way out of your body!
Stay tuned for next time we dissect another one of our juices at Grassroots!
